What We Do

What We Do

We are medical experts in the treatment of hormonal conditions and symptoms, including perimenopause and menopause. All our Doctors prescribe in accordance with The British Menopause Society and evidence based medicine.

We firmly believe that no patient should suffer in silence and that each one is unique. Therefore the best possible treatment is always tailored to the individual, helping them to recover and achieve their full potential.

At our Harley Street clinic, we treat both men and women.

Women’s Health

Pre / PERI-Menopause

Pre-menopause refers to the years before menopause and includes peri-menopause. Women experience a range of hormonal symptoms from the age of 35, which can profoundly affect the way they feel and function. Examples of conditions we treat are endometriosis, polycystic ovarian syndrome and pre-menstrual syndrome.

At LHC we aim to restore hormonal balance using body identical hormones, supplements and other medications if needed. We will also address your lifestyle factors to see what impact they could be having on your symptoms.

Menopause

Menopause is the term given to cessation of periods when the body stops producing hormones. It can be a challenging time for women, especially those experiencing more prolific symptoms.

Even for women who are able to push through, there are innumerable long term health and emotional benefits to replacing the hormones that become deficient as we age.

HRT offers protection against osteoporosis, dementia and cardiovascular disease. It can also help improve focus and memory, and restore energy levels and libido; effectively giving many women their life back.

At LHC we individualise treatment with body identical hormones, which may include oestradiol, oestriol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA, pregnenolone and melatonin.

Well Woman Check

We offer patients a comprehensive assessment of their overall health and lifestyle as part of our Well Woman Check, including a full medical history with all relevent investigations.

We make sure any routine tests, such as smear tests and mammograms, are up to date and can arrange additional testing, including pelvic ultrasounds, where indicated.

We will perform the relevant blood tests, which may include:

  • Full blood count

  • Liver and kidney tests

  • Thyroid tests

  • Vitamin D

  • Full hormonal panel

  • Diabetes tests

  • Inflammatory markers.

Men’s Health

Andropause

At LHC we are experienced at treating the hormonal change experienced by men, which occurs as a result of declining testosterone levels.

Male testosterone levels lower at an average rate of around 1% every year from the age of 30. But since men have very differing levels of the hormones to start with, related symptoms can be present at any time.

These life-affirming symptoms may include changes in sexual function, emotions and sleep.

Nutrition & Lifestyle

Good nutrition and healthy lifestyle are important to health and wellbeing. At LHC, you will receive outstanding expert advice on healthy eating and how to stay active.

We use the latest medical and nutritional research to create diet and exercise plans for our patients offering education and advice around the best foods for your symptoms, conditions, health objectives and lifestyle.

Our nutritional and metabolic approach helps prevent insulin resistance and type 2 diabetes and we will identify any other underlying health risks and issues through consultation and blood tests, particularly with respect to cardiovascular disease.

We also investigate and treat some inflammatory causes of chronic diseases including Hashimoto’s, inflammatory bowel disease, psoriasis and eczema and food allergies.
