Dr Gina Schoeman

Dr Gina Schoeman, MB.ChB., MBA, Dip.Derm, MRCGP, MBCAM, qualified from Stellenbosch University in South Africa. (2001).

Following her medical qualification, Gina worked at community based primary care clinics in the Cape Flats which involved family planning as well as acute and chronic disease management. She also spent her time working at secondary and tertiary hospitals in Cape Town, such as Grootte Schuur Hospital, practising Emergency Medicine.

Gina moved to the United Kingdom in 2004 and worked both on the mainland as well as in the Channel Islands. She obtained her MBA, her Diploma in Dermatology (Cardiff) and, in 2012, Gina went on to qualify as a GP in the UK.

Gina has a special interest in bio-identical hormone treatments as well as evidence-based advances in integrative and conventional medicine. She is passionate about achieving the deep understanding of her patients’ individual medical needs to enable her to develop treatment plans that optimise their health and wellbeing. The years she spent in Emergency Medicine have shown her how most catastrophic health presentations in the department could have been averted by identifying, understanding and treating those patients’ existing underlying risk factors years in advance.

Gina has attended the Marion Gluck Training Academy Institute of Functional Medicine modules and is in training on Dr Neil Rouzier’s world renowned course on natural hormone replacement for men and women to achieve healthy ageing.

Gina is a member of both the Royal College of General Practitioners and the British Menopause Society.
